Jenée’s Manifesto
I write about how I believe culture can shift—how we bridge divides, move beyond false binaries, and turn the things we know are true into practices we can actually live by. Along the way, I help individuals and organizations tell authentic stories that reflect who they truly are, not who they think they’re supposed to be.
I’m a committed middle-of-the-roader, not out of indecision, but because the middle offers the best vantage point, and because extremes rarely serve us. I believe that what often appears to be irreconcilable differences are usually varied perspectives shaped by our individual experiences, fears, and longings. My work draws on proven methods showing that when we’re willing to explore other viewpoints, engage with people unlike ourselves, and express from a place of authenticity and vulnerability, the “us vs. them” narrative begins to dissolve.
My storytelling blends humor and meaning, levity and depth. Through my explore–engage–express framework, I teach others how to tell—and live—stories that are honest, human, and connective.
Tongue-in-cheek is one of my native languages. My inner monologues have been compared to the familial wit of Erma Bombeck and David Sedaris, with a dash of Chelsea Handler, minus the middle finger and a few fewer f-bombs.
Ultimately, my work asks people to pause and soften. To consider another angle.
I hope to be a refreshing voice that champions love over fear and curiosity over certainty.
Lastly, I don’t see light and dark as rivals. I see them as necessary partners—each giving the other meaning. That understanding guides everything I create.
