My Family, The Happy Half Dozen (Zoom style)

  • Joyce (Mom)

Mom is our unsung hero, a tireless advocate for peace, and an empath who feels the joy (and pain) of those she loves. No wonder she truly wishes she lived in Mayberry. She has affected hundreds of thousands of lives through her work and the giving of her love—a ripple effect likely in the millions. She’s my rock.

    Superpower: Forgiveness

  • Gene (Dad)

Dad is the extroverted friend to all. His love for his wife and children is unparalleled. His devotion to prayer is tenacious and incredibly powerful. Ask anyone. I get calls all the time requesting Dad’s direct line to God, not to mention how often I’m calling on his connection to the supernatural. He’s my hero.

    Superpower: Prayer

  • Jenée (Me)

I am the proud firstborn. Despite my tell-all blog, I am the keeper of secrets for my siblings—a vault containing hilarious, gut-wrenching and surreptitious truths that will go with me to my grave. One of my greatest joys is being a cheerleading sounding board for my sister and brothers. To me, family is everything.

    Superpower: Positivity

  • Julie (Sis)

Julie is the smartest child in terms of IQ. More than smart, she’s a compassionate yet hardcore advocate for health and wellbeing. She will unapologetically throat-punch you if you hurt a child, animal, or anyone helpless. She is a storm-weatherer beyond comparison, and an equally funny storyteller. She is my best friend.

    Superpower: Compassion

  • Jerrod (Bro)

Jerrod has the largest heart of all, bar none. His love of family is incomparable (both our Happy Half Dozen and his own clan). He feels everything, like our mother, while choosing to live life with unabashed happiness and absolute integrity. The epitome of actions-speak-louder-than-words, he is my shelter from the storm.

    Superpower: Family

  • Jason (Bro)

Jason is a paradoxical balance of intelligence and soul. He’s the reason we all have a dictionary app on our phone. His innate and blossoming creativity serves as an equipoise to his academic brain. We all see his bright inner light, even when he focuses on his shadow. He is forever my overjoyed 5-year-old baby brother.

    Superpower: Charm
